It’s rumored that rocker Jon Bon Jovi is eyeing the possibility of buying the Buffalo Bills. However, his publicist has now refuted the story.
As we previously reported, the rumor was that Bon Jovi would vie for the team when current owner Ralph Wilson passes away. CBS Sports was the first to report the story.
His publicist, Ken Sunshine, has told The AP that the rumor is "preposterous."
Sunshine said Bon Jovi has too much respect for Wilson to start premature negotiations about buying his team before his death. Sunshine noted that the New Jersey native is definitely interested in someday becoming an NFL owner, but he is not in discussions to purchase the Bills.
Meanwhile, Wilson, 95, has said he will not sell the franchise while he’s still alive.
Bon Jovi does have experience in owning a sports team, he’s the founder and primary owner of the Philadelphia Soul, an Arena Football League team formed in 2004.
