Conrad Murray, the doctor convicted of involuntary manslaughter in the death of Michael Jackson, has finally opened up in his first interview since leaving prison. In the interview, Murray goes into detail about how close he was with the King of Pop.
As previously reported, Murray spoke with the Daily Mail and insisted that he wasn’t responsible for Jackson’s death. “I did not kill Michael Jackson,” Murray said. “He was a drug addict. Michael Jackson accidentally killed Michael Jackson.”
What may come as a surprise to fans is that Murray claims he was intimately close to Jackson. “I never gave Michael anything that would kill him,” he said. “I loved him. I still do. I always will”
He described talking about Jackson as an opening of “‘floodgates of pain.” During the five-hour interview with the British paper, Murray, added, “You want to know how close we were? I held his penis every night to fit a catheter because he was incontinent at night.”
Murray described Jackson as a “broken man” before he died as the pressure to perform 50 shows at London’s O2 Arena was becoming too much. “I tried to protect him but instead I was brought down with him,” Murray recalled.
Jackson was also paranoid, according to Murray and wouldn’t even let his maids clean his bedroom. He also said that one time Jackson claimed to be clairvoyant.
“Then he looked at me and said, ‘You know, for the rest of your life and my life our names will become inseparable,’” Murray said. “I asked him, ‘Michael, what do you mean?’ and he smiled and said, ‘I am clairvoyant.’”
Murray also angered Debbie Rowe, Jackson’s ex-wife and the mother of two of his children. “Michael told me he never slept with Debbie Rowe. We joked that neither of us would want to have sex with her,” Murray said.
Rowe responded to TMZ, suggesting that a Jackson fan will shoot Murray.
