Taylor Swift attends jury duty the morning after VMAs

The MTV Video Music Awards proved that they will go on with or without Taylor Swift. However fans couldn't help but wonder why the singer didn't attend the award show. Was it because of Kanye West? Or was is really because she had jury duty the following morning?

The singer is just like us after all. The photos prove that on Monday morning even she had to attend jury duty. But of course, like most of her acts of kindness, it had to be documented.

According to Us Weekly, Swift ended up being dismissed as a potential juror in the aggravated rape case. This was due to her own pending civil case involving sexual assault.

Back in September 2015 Swift sued a Colorado DJ for touching her in an inappropriate manner backstage at a concert making her impartial to the case.
