Patriots fans suing NFL for ‘emotional distress’ over Deflategate (Video)

New England Patriots fans are extremely ticked off about losing a draft pick over the whole Deflategate saga and to prove just how mad they are, they decided to sue the league for it.

The New York Daily News noted that seven Pats filed suit in Boston on April 5, claiming that the punishment of their beloved team losing a draft pick was, “arbitrary and capricious.”

The league itself, Commissioner Roger Goodell and even Patriots owner Robert Kraft were all named as defendants. Kraft was named for apparently not fighting the penalty enough.

“Defendant Robert Kraft had remedies to attempt to get plaintiffs’ draft pick back, but he chose his fellow billionaire owners above the plaintiffs and fellow fans,” the suit claims.

Deflategate is of course the scandal that broke last year in which the pressure of the New England Patriots’ footballs came into question after an interception by Indianapolis Colts linebacker D’Qwell Jackson in the AFC Championship Game.

Patriots quarterback Tom Brady denied any wrongdoing but the league suspended him for the first four games of the season; that suspension was later overturned in court.

The penalty of a draft choice being taken away still stands and the fans who filed suit are accusing the NFL of fraud and claim that these sanctions have inflicted "emotional distress" upon them.
