Nick Jonas continues to reinvent himself with every project he does. In the past 18 months the singer has left The Jonas Brothers to embark on a solo journey that has spanned from a solo album, two television shows, and now, a movie.
On Friday, Nick made his debut at the Sundance Film Festival in the film Goat. The film takes a closer look at the college fraternities and their institutionalized toxic masculinity at play, notes Variety's review. The film's unflinching take on the brotherhood was easily a highlight of the festival this year.

The "Jealous" singer sat down with the Daily Beast and talked about how he related to the character Brett he played in the film.
“I’ve had sex and drank a lot [in real life], so there are parts of this film that are perfectly real in some sense,” he laughed. “But it’s important to take your fans on a journey. And it’s the responsibility of any artist to say, ‘This is what I’m connected to, this is what inspires me, and hopefully you can ask the same questions I’ve asked of myself.’"
Jonas is no stranger to acting in any means, or playing a fraternity brother for that matter. Most recently he's been playing Boon on Scream Queens who ends up being the red devil. He's an MMA fighter on Kingdom which is returning for a third season on DirectTV. But, who could forget his small screen debut in Camp Rock way back in The Jonas Brothers Days.
He even offered up his views on modern day masculinity which played a big part in the fraternity based film.
“At the core is this concept of modern-day masculinity and what that means, but also brotherhood—and not the love you think you want, but the love you actually need,” added Jonas. “I think there’s a distorted view because of the inability to be honest and to be transparent as a man sometimes—especially at that age,” he said. “It’s a taxing age in the sense of you’re coming into who you are and in that is a lot of insecurity.”
