Aaron Hernandez appears in court for double-murder trial, sports possible gang tattoo (Photo)

Aaron Hernandez was back in court this week for a pretrial hearing and had on full display for the first time the tattoo he got several months ago.

ESPN noted that the former NFL star turned convicted killer made the appearance for his upcoming double-murder case and was granted a motion by the defense and prosecutors for a move.

In a news release Thursday, a spokesperson for the district attorney said that Suffolk County Superior Court Judge Jeffrey Locke granted the request and the case will return to court for another hearing on Jan. 19.

Hernandez has already been found guilty of first-degree murder in the case Odin Lloyd last April. This latest trial is for the double murder of two men, Daniel de Abreu and Safiro Furtado, outside a Boston nightclub in 2012. He is currently serving a mandatory life sentence without the possibility of parole.

During his most-recent court appearance, Hernandez was wearing a white T-shirt in which his neck tattoo was on full display for the first time since we reported that he got the ink last May.

The “Lifetime Loyalty” tat is given to members of the Bloods gang.
