Tom Bergeron to miss 'Dancing with the Stars' to be with sick father, Alfonso Ribiero will fill in as host

Tom Bergeron will miss Monday’s episode of Dancing with the Stars to be with his sick father and Alfonso Ribiero will be filling in for him as host.

On Sunday night, Bergeron let his followers know he would be missing the first episode of this week in a heartfelt post.

“I'll miss 2morrow's #dwts to be at my Dad's bedside,” he tweeted. “He's given me a lifetime of support. Time to return the favor.”

Ribiero then reposted the throwback photo of Bergeron and his father and confirmed he would step in for the Emmy-winning host.

“I will be filling in for @tombergeron tomorrow night on@dancingabc. I will be there with a heavy heart for my friend Tom and the Bergeron family,” he posted to Twitter and Instagram.

People reports Ribiero was guest judge last week, so this is his second appearance on the 21st season of DWTS so far.

Ironically, Ribiero also replaced Bergeron as host of America's Funniest Home Videos.
