CBS developing stage shows based on 'The Brady Bunch', 'Cheers'

Two of the greatest sitcoms of all time are coming back, although in a pretty unexpected medium.

According to Entertainment Weekly, CBS is developing stage shows based on The Brady Bunch and Cheers.

The Brady Bunch show is going to be a comedic musical, though we don't know a whole lot about it yet other than that it'll be a new story about the Brady Family. It will be written by Lloyd J Schwartz and Hope Juber, son and daughter of the show's creator, Sherwood Schwartz.

We'll also be getting Cheers Live On Stage from Stageworks Media, although this one won't be a musical. Instead, the show will apparently "showcase classic moments from many of its scripted episodes." That show will be touring sometime in 2016.

The Brady Bunch has had a few movies and specials, with the most recent being a 2002 made for TV movie called The Brady Bunch in the White House. A few years ago there was talks of a reboot with Vince Vaughn, according to IGN, but that never ended up coming to fruition.
