Kendrick Lamar opens up about 'Bad Blood' collaboration with Taylor Swift

When Taylor Swift released the music video for her latest hit single, "Bad Blood" fans were treated to a surprise musical guest on the track, Kendrick Lamar. Lamar is now opening up in a rare interview with Ellen DeGeneres about how the collaboration came together.

E! Online reported that Lamar explained on the Ellen DeGeneres Show that Swift reached out to him. "I've always been a fan of hers, and she was a fan of my music and she reached out and we got it done," said Lamar.

The music video features a wide variety of celebrities including; Cara Delevingne, Martha Hunt, Karlie Kloss, Selena Gomez, Jessica Alba, Ellen Pompeo, Lena Dunham, Mariska Hargitay and Lamar. The video which was directed by Joseph Kahn, also broke the VEVO record for most views within in 24 hours.

Entertainment Weekly reported that the single has already taken the top spot on the Billboard charts. This is the third single off of 1989 to take the top spot, following "Blank Space" and "Shake it Off."
