Rihanna has released a new song called “James Joint” in honor of the unofficial marijuana holiday, 420.
The Barbados-born singer premiered the song on her website on Tuesday. In a short note to her fans, she wrote, “In celebration of 420, here's an interlude from my 8th studio album that I call James Joint.”
“I’d rather be breaking things ’cause we can’t see. We’re too busy kissing, just making scenes, here come the police, didn’t know about your history,” are some of the lyrics from “James Joint,” which prove it’s also a love song.
Rihanna’s upcoming album is called R8 and its release date is currently unknown. Back in March, she teased fans with previews of “Higher,” “Towards the Sun” and “American Oxygen.”
She also just released “Bitch Better Have My Money” at the end of last month.
Kuk Harrell and Marcos Tovar produced R8, with her “FourFiveSeconds” collaborator Kanye West executive producing it.
