The 50th annual Academy of Country Music Awards are taking place soon and some of the biggest names in country music are reflecting back on their first experiences at the awards.
Miranda Lambert, Jason Aldean and Luke Bryan opened up to Entertainment Tonight about their first ACM experience.
The first time that country superstar Luke Bryan attended the ceremony he remembered being surrounded by stars and eating popcorn. "It was our opportunity to see all our stars. We never really got to see 'em perform, we didn't have an arena or anything so they couldn't come to that, so a big chance to see our favorite performers were on TV watching the ACMs."
It was until he saw host Reba McEntire that he really got emotional. "I just sat in the back and ate popcorn, and I think Reba walked out and I started crying, so that was an amazing moment," said Bryan.
Bryan will be taking over hosting duties for the third time this year with co-host and friend, Blake Shelton.
Miranda Lambert, wife of Blake Shelton, explained that her early memories surrounding the show included a game that she would play in her house growing up, Fox News added. "I used to sit with a yellow legal pad and name all the artists that were nominated and circle the ones that I thought would win," said Lambert. "It was kind of a game in our house."
