GoDaddy will not be race car driver Danica Patrick’s primary sponsor in 2016.
TMZ Sports noted that on Wednesday, GoDaddy announced that it would not renew the deal, which expires this year.
In addition, the company will no longer sponsor any NASCAR vehicles after this season.
"NASCAR has been a tremendous domestic platform to help us achieve an 81 percent aided brand awareness domestically, but at this stage, we need a range of marketing assets that reach a more globally-diverse set of customers," GoDaddy’s chief marketing officer Phil Bienert said.
ESPN reported that although GoDaddy will drop Patrick’s sponsorship, it is negotiating to work on personal services with her.
"I'm excited to work with GoDaddy on a personal level moving forward but will miss having their bright green color on my race car next year," Patrick said in a statement. "At the same time, this is a new opportunity for a brand to pair with me and Stewart-Haas Racing and achieve the kind of growth we experienced with GoDaddy."
The internet domain company has been the 33-year-old's No. 1 sponsor since 2010, when she even moved from Indy Racing to NASCAR. There has not been any word yet on her potential new primary sponsor.
