Broncos’ cornerback Aqib Talib investigated for assault (Report)

Denver Broncos cornerback Aqib Talib and his brother are reportedly being investigated by the Dallas Police Department for assault.

According to WFAA, the siblings are both being investigated for an alleged assault at a downtown Dallas nightclub early Wednesday morning.

The report claimed that Talib and his brother, Yaqub, were allegedly involved in a fight during which a gun was fired inside Club Luxx. Later, upon trying to enter another club, police found the pair, questioned and then released them.

Broncos’ vice president of public relations Patrick Smyth told the Denver Post that the team was aware of the reports and contacted the cornerback.

"We have been in touch with Aqib regarding these reports and will continue to monitor this situation," he said.

This not Talib’s first run in with the law. He was arrested in 2009 for allegedly punching a cab driver in Florida when he was a member of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He received a one-game suspension and lost a game check for the incident. In 2011, he was indicted on an aggravated assault charge in the Lone Star state. Those charges, however, were later dismissed.

The 29-year-old is a seven-year NFL veteran and two-time Pro Bowler. Before the start of last season, he signed a six-year, $57 million contract with the Broncos.
