The 57th annual Grammy awards will be taking place on Sunday night with some of the biggest names in music attending and performing. Will it be the night that newcomer Sam Smith takes home everything much like Norah Jones did in 2003 when she one all five of the major categories? Or will the night feature a few surprises from other artists like Beyonce and Taylor Swift?

Album of the Year
Nominees: Morning Phase, Beck; Beyonce, Beyonce; X, Ed Sheeran; In The Lonely Hour, Sam Smith; Girl, Pharrell Williams
Winner: In The Lonely Hour, Sam Smith
Sam Smith has been the breakout star of 2015, with hits like “I Know I’m Not The Only One” to “Stay With Me” taking over the charts and his album sales skyrocketing, it is likely that he will walk away with the big prize of the night. He brought a new sound to the music industry and his first impression was one of the best with his vocal range and soulful desire behind every song. His main competition in this category is Beyonce with her surprise album of the year but Smith brought so much originality and passion with this album, it is his for the taking.
Record of the Year
Nominees: "Fancy," Iggy Azalea featuring Charli XCX; "Chandelier," Sia; "Stay With Me" (Darkchild Version), Sam Smith; "Shake It Off," Taylor Swift; "All About That Bass," Meghan Trainor
Winner: “Shake It Off,” Taylor Swift
Taylor Swift proved that she could change her entire musical style and still have millions of devoted fans by her side, she even proved that actually purchasing music was not a thing of the past but it was her incredible catchy and popular song “Shake It Off” that kicked off this musical revolution and for that Swift will walk away with another Grammy. It was popular, creative and showed off how the music industry could change. It’s Taylor Swift world, we are all just living in it.
Song of the Year
Nominees:"All About That Bass," Kevin Kadish and Meghan Trainor (performed by Trainor); "Chandelier," Sia Furler and Jesse Shatkin (performed by Sia); "Shake It Off," Max Martin, Shellback and Taylor Swift (performed by Swift); "Stay With Me" (Darkchild Version), James Napier, William Phillips and Sam Smith (performed by Smith); "Take Me to Church," Andrew Hozier-Byrne (songwriter and performer).
< b>Winner: “All About That Bass” Kevin Kadish and Meghan Trainor (performed by Trainor)
This will be a close competition between Smith, Swift and Trainor but for this race I’m picking the dark horse, “All About That Bass.” It was original, catchy and became an instant hit on the radio airwaves and through streaming services. Trainor even though she is a newcomer embodied her personality into the song and made it an anthem for young men and women everywhere. Smith with “Stay With Me” is likely to win but this might be a night full of surprises.
Best New Artist
Nominees: Iggy Azalea, Bastille, Brandy Clark, Haim, Sam Smith
This category is going to Sam Smith, without a doubt. With his first radio single, “Stay With Me” he locked up this category. It was unlike anything else playing on the radio at the time and was truly one of a kind. He showed what can incredible artist he is and showcased an entirely different musical sound. This night might feature a few surprises but it will be Sam Smith’s night.
