Authorities in Kansas have said that Dallas Cowboys running back Joseph Randle has been arrested … again.
ProFootballTalk noted that the although Randle’s agent Erik Burkhardt said his client was not arrested, but only given a citation by Wichita police, the department said otherwise.
Law enforcement officials confirmed that the running back was not booked and no mugshot was taken, but he was in fact arrested and has an upcoming court appearance.
“His agent can say what he wants to. Here in Wichita, Kansas, it’s considered an arrest,” said Lt. James Espinoza.
ESPN, along with several local news outlets in Dallas, reported that Randle’s arrest for unlawful possession of marijuana came early Tuesday morning. The drugs were allegedly discovered after police responded to a domestic disturbance call at a hotel room where the athlete and a 22-year-woman were staying. Police are still investigating the domestic violence claim.
A spokesperson for the Cowboys had no comment.
The 23-year-old Randle made headlines in October when he was arrested for shoplifting underwear and cologne at a Texas mall.
