Vanessa Carlton is known for her hit singles, "A Thousand Miles" and "Ordinary Day" has just given birth to a baby girl. Carlton with her husband John McCauley welcomed a daughter on Tuesday and made the announcement via social media.

Good Morning America reported that Carlton tweeted out the news and said that she was very thankful for all of the sweet wishes and support and that her daughter is quiet the observer already. This is the first child for the couple.
John McCauley took to his Instagram account and posted a picture of himself and his new daughter with the caption, "Sid the Kid, whoa!!!"
People reported that the due to the birth of her child and her pregnancy, Carlton had to push back her album release from last year to this year.
The singer has not yet provided any update on when her next album would be coming out.
