Nick Jonas gave a revealing interview to Rolling Stone about his explosive past year, which included shedding his Jonas Brothers image and embarking upon a successful solo career. He also talked about that now famous Flaunt magazine spread, where he stripped down to his underwear.
After splitting up from the band that made him a household name along with his brothers Joe and Kevin Jonas, he launched a solo career and a wildly successful song “Jealous.”
The 22-year-old singer told Rolling Stone, “My life has changed so much in 12 months that I can't predict what tomorrow is going to bring,” he said. “It's really bizarre, to be honest. I've never had a song like 'Jealous.' It's pretty flattering."
When the New York Times interview his brother Joe did in 2013 came up, he said he didn’t smoke weed with Miley Cyrus and Demi Lovato back in his Jonas Brothers days like him but he did smoke marijuana “elsewhere.”
“I was actually way more guarded back then. I wasn't partying too hard at 15, which is probably for the best,” he said. “I've loosened up quite a bit since then. My Disney years feel like a long, long time ago.”
Jonas also talked about his Flaunt magazine spread and embracing a new fan base. He also admitted he was “fearful” his Jonas Brother fans would ditch him.
“My goal in the last year was to expand and grow as a person and an artist, and embracing my gay fans was a priority,” he said. “Some of my gay friends have thanked me for that, and that's a really good feeling.”
He did admit of the racy photos, “It's one of those things where I'm getting sick of looking at myself like that.”
