“Love Me You Do,” the new song from British singer Ellie Goulding, surfaced on Wednesday. The song is Goulding’s contribution to the Fifty Shades of Grey soundtrack.
It’s clear that Universal’s Focus Features is hoping that the Fifty Shades of Grey soundtrack will be a big seller. A special remix of Beyonce’s “Crazy in Love” was featured in the first trailer for the film. As Entertainment Weekly points out, The Weeknd contributed “Earned It,” which is already a Top 20 hit on the Billboard hot R&B/Hip-Hop songs chart.
As for Goulding, the single follows her second album, Halcyon, which features “Anything Could Happen” and was reissued as Halcyon Days with the single “Burn.” She’s also featured on Calvin Harris’ “Outside.”
Fifty Shades of Grey, the film adaptation of E.L. James’ erotic novel, will hit theaters on Feb. 13. According to ComingSoon.net, the MPAA has officially rated it R, as expected, for “strong sexual content including dialogue, some unusual behavior and graphic nudity, and for language.” The film stars Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson.
