Domestic assault investigation involving Kurt Busch sent to prosecutors

The investigation into allegations that NASCAR racer Kurt Busch assaulted his ex-girlfriend has been completed and forwarded to prosecutors.

CBS Sports reported that upon completion of the investigation the case was sent to Delaware prosecutors, but authorities have not said whether or not they intend to charge the racecar driver.

The Associated Press noted that in November, Busch was interviewed by investigators after his ex, Patricia Driscoll, accused him of assaulting her at Dover International Speedway.

Driscoll claims that on September 26, Busch became distraught over a poor qualifying and said that he "wished he had a gun so that he could kill himself."

She then alleged that Busch got angry with her and slammed her head against the wall before chocking her inside his mobile home at the track.

Busch and his attorneys have denied those allegations.

The 36-year-old is a second-generation NASCAR driver. His father, Tom, won several NASCAR-racing events. His is also the older brother of fellow racer Kyle Busch and was once selected No. 3 on GQ Magazine's top ten list of the most hated sports stars.
