Drummers should know that protecting their arms is really important. That may have slipped Patrick Carney’s mind though while he was vacationing in Saint Barthelemy.
The Black Keys drummer posted an Instagram photo over the weekend, showing himself in a hospital. “Tune into my new lifetime movie. ‘Dislocated shoulder’ airing right now,” he wrote.
According to TMZ, Carney was injured when a wave slammed him, pushing him under water. He was rushed to an emergency room.
Carney was already out of the hospital by the time the injury was reported, but TMZ claims that he is still in pain.
Rolling Stone reports that the Black Keys are supposed to perform at the 2015 MusiCares Person of the Year tribute for Bob Dylan on Feb. 6, during Grammys weekend. It’s not clear if Carney will be healed up by then.
Carney and singer/guitarist Dan Auerbach will also start a European tour in February.
The duo released Turn Blue, their follow-up to the highly successful El Camino, in 2014.
