The date for the premiere of Wayward Pines, a new 10-episode Fox TV show, was released Tuesday.
The “event series,” which has M. Night Shyamalan attached as an executive producer, will air May 14 on Fox, according to The Hollywood Reporter. It will also run in a 9:00 p.m time slot on Thursdays. Shyamalan is best known for The Sixth Sense and Lady in the Water.
The premiere for Wayward Pines will also air at the same time internationally, Variety reported. Fox said the show will premiere in more than 125 countries, making it the biggest premiere ever done for a scripted series.
Variety also reported that the show focuses on a Secret Service agent who goes to the town of Wayward Pines to look for two other federal agents who went missing. Matt Dillon stars in the show, and the cast includes Melissa Leo, Terrence Howard, Carla Gugino, and Toby Jones. Shyamalan directed the first episode.
Other executive producers include Donald De Line, Ashwin Rajan, and Chad Hodge, who developed Wayward Pines for TV, according to THR.
