Tigers trade Rick Porcello to Red Sox for Yoenis Céspedes (Reports)

The hot-stove continues to heat up as the Detroit Tigers have reportedly traded right-handed pitcher Rick Porcello to the Boston Red Sox for outfielder Yoenis Céspedes.

According to Fox Sports 1 and WEEI.com, league sources said that the Sox will send Céspedes, reliever Alex Wilson and minor league pitcher Gabe Speier to the Tigers for Porcello.

Porcello spent his entire six-year career pitching for Detroit where he compiled a 76-63 record with a 4.30 ERA, Baseball-Reference.com noted. He has won at least 10 games every season. The 25-year-old is eligible to become a free agent after 2015.

Céspedes meanwhile, spent the first few years of his career with the Oakland Athletics before being shipped to Boston last season. He has a lifetime batting average of .263 and 71 career home runs. The 29-year-old Cuban native was an All-Star last season and is a back-to-back HR Derby Champion.

With Porcello the Sox will get a durable player, who has never been on the disabled list.

With Céspedes the Tigers will get solid defense and speed.

On Wednesday evening, the Sox also acquired left-handed pitcher Wade Miley for Rubby De La Rosa and Allen Webster from the Arizona Diamondbacks.
