As usual, on the day after a new episode, Saturday Night Live posted a deleted scene that didn’t make it to the broadcast. This week’s skit was far more interesting than anything that did make it, since it tried to make light on the situation in Ferguson, Missouri.
The sketch, which has already been seen over 310,000 times since it was posted on Sunday, has Kenan Thompson and Cecily Strong playing St. Louis morning show hosts who are supposed to be cheery. However, they find it difficult to be happy, since the area has been the center of protests over a grand jury’s decision not to indict police officer Darren Wilson in the shooting death of unarmed black teen Michael Brown.
During the bit, Thompson and Strong beg their producers not to show their overly happy title jingle and question the oddly phrased things they’re supposed to talk about. James Franco plays a chef, whose first name is Daryl. Sadly, his last name is Wilson.
You can check out the full sketch below. Our recap of the sketches that did air can be found here.
