Rapper Beanie Sigel remains hospitalized after being shot during an altercation outside a home in Pleasantville, New Jersey.

NBC10 reported that authorities said the shooting happened shortly before 10 a.m. Friday and Sigel was transported to an area hospital to undergo surgery.
The South Jersey Times noted that Pleasantville police Chief Jose Ruiz gave little details about the shooting, but said that the bullet went in through his abdomen and out his back. The rapper was listed in serious condition.
Another man was injured in the shooting as well, but declined medical treatment.
Beanie Sigel, whose real name is Dwight Grant, is a Philadelphia-born Hip-Hop artist and former member of Roc-A-Fella Records. He had several collaborations with his former boss and mentor Jay-Z before the two had a falling out.
In August, the 40-year-old rapper was released from federal prison after serving two years for tax evasion. He also previously served time for weapons charges. In 2011, he appeared in the film Rhyme and Punishment, a documentary about Hip-Hop artist who have been incarcerated.
