Does Madonna call Lady Gaga a 'copycat' in leaked 'Rebel Heart' track?

All signs appear to point to the fact that Madonna’s new song “Two Steps Behind Me,” which was leaked off of her upcoming album Rebel Heart, is about Lady Gaga.

Their rumored feud has gone on for some time, with Madonna reportedly believing that Gaga is trying to imitate her and her music. Gaga has never bad mouthed Madonna in the media, though.

Madonna’s manager, Guy Oseary, took to Twitter to deny “Two Steps Behind Me” is abut anyone in particular.

"That song is NOT about Gaga or anyone in particular," he wrote. “The song is an unfinished demo she had no intention of finishing or releasing along with many others. She has NO ill will towards Gaga. It's nonsense. She was listening to (Gaga's) Tony Bennett duet album last week and appreciating it."

The lyrics to the song include Madonna calling someone a “copycat,” Fashion Times reports.

“Where is my royalty?" she sings. "You're a pretty girl, I'll give you that. But stealing my recipe, it's an ugly look. Did you study me hard enough? You're never gonna be, you're just a wannabe me. Like a sister all messed-up, who's gonna help you out? In your fantasy, you can try it all. But you can't be me.”

In 2011, Gaga denied a feud with Madonna to the UK’s Mirror, calling her a “wonderful ¬influence on me.”
