The fashion world lost one of their own just weeks ago with the unfortunate passing of famed designer Oscar de la Renta.
The designer reached his pinnacle in 1965 and from then on, every first lady since Jackie O has worn Oscar de la Renta. His designs fit the lifestyle of working, successful women, a fitting description for first ladies. He even helped Hillary Clinton perfect a working woman stable: the pantsuit. De La Renta was not only a staple in the White House but also on the red carpet, with plenty of celebrity fans, including Sarah Jessica Parker, Jennifer Lawrence and Penelope Cruz.
De La Renta’s official cause of death is still unclear although sources say that the designer was sick for some time. It was also widely known that the designer was diagnosed with cancer in 2006.
