Deadshot will be in the new Suicide Squad film, and one actor in discussions to play him is Jai Courtney.
Courtney was revealed to be discussing with Warner Bros. about that role for the film by Variety. The Suicide Squad film will be written and directed by David Ayer. Other actors talking with Warner Bros. for other roles in the film include Will Smith, Tom Hardy, and Jared Leto.
Courtney had been in roles portraying both good guys and bad. Variety reported that he played the villain in Divergent and will come back for the sequel next year. He also played the adult son of Bruce Willis’ John McClaine in A Good Day to Die Hard, and will play Kyle Reese in the new Terminator: Genisys.
Deadshot, whose real name is Floyd Lawton according to Cinema Blend, is a for-profit assassin in the DC comics and a father to a daughter. The Suicide Squad in the comics are teams of various imprisoned DC supervillains who are offered an opportunity to go on highly dangerous operations to reduce prison time.
Suicide Squad is set for a summer 2016 release, according to Variety.
