Over two years ago, Frank Ocean shook the music industry with his widely acclaimed Channel Orange. There’s no word on when his follow-up will be released, but it could be soon. The rapper just dropped a new track.
Ocean released a song titled “Memrise” on his Tumblr blog, including the song’s lyrics, notes Billboard.
It’s a very simple track, lasting just two minutes. In it, he imagines a lover coming over to his place and spending the night together.
Channel Orange was released back in summer 2012 and debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 album chart with over 130,000 copies sold.
It’s not clear when his follow-up will be released or even if Ocean plans on including the track. Last year, he said in an interview that he had most of the album completed and that it would have a single, cohesive concept, like Channel Orange. He told BBC 1 that he had been recording with Pharrell Williams, Danger Mouse and Tyler, The Creator.
You can listed to the track below. It features strong language.
