Former Tennessee Titans kicker Rob Bironas was found to have had a blood-alcohol level of .218, which is quite a ways over the legal limit.

The toxicology report came back and found that in addition to the alcohol in his system, Bironas also had likely taken Valium as well, The Tennessean reports, though the medical examiner said the level of Valium was quite low and wouldn't be enough to affect the kicker.
"We appreciate the hard work of the local authorities to help us begin to answer the many questions we have had surrounding the death of our son. Today we learned that Rob had been drinking, and got behind the wheel," Larry Bironas, Rob's father, said in a statement. "This is something he didn't do as a rule. We don't know why he made that choice this time. Rob made a mistake, and he paid the ultimate price."
The report also noted that the official cause of death for the 36-year-old former NFL kicker was blunt force trauma.
Bironas died after going off the road and smashing into trees on Sept. 20. He had been driving at a high rate of speed and lost control.
After the crash, two separate drivers came forward to claim that Bironas tried to run them off the road and made threatening comments.
