Criminal Minds is coming back for an all new 10th season and there is so much to look forward to! With the exit of Jeanne Tripplehorn, who played Agent Alex Blake, there is a new profiler on the team played by actress Jennifer Love Hewitt.
When the show comes back, we will see the aftermath of Spencer Reid’s shooting, find out more about the new character of Kate Callahan, and see how all the other members of the team are doing.
With each new season, we have seen many changes come through the Behavioral Analysis Unit, headed by Aaron Hotchner with his team comprised of David Rossi, Derek Morgan, Jennifer ‘JJ’ Jareau, Spencer Reid and Penelope Garcia. Along with the dangerous unsubs, we also get heartfelt moments with the team’s families and with each other. What else will the show bring us for this newest season?
While we wait for the premiere on Oct. 1, let’s take a look at some of the things we’re looking forward to most based on what we know will be coming this season.
This article will include some spoilers.

10. Guest Stars
Every season, we have seen plenty of actors come and go from the show as guest stars, from C. Thomas Howell to Yvette Gonzalez-Nacer from The Fresh Beat Band. This season, we are expecting to see guest stars including Kerr Smith from Dawson’s Creek and Ian Nelson, who played a young Derek Hale on Teen Wolf. Kerr Smith is reportedly playing a guy who has a fetish about amputated body parts. I wouldn’t expect anything less out of this show.

9. Relationships
One of the best things to watch on this show are the relationships that form, especially when we get to learn a little about the personal lives of the BAU. Hopefully we will get to see more moments between JJ and her husband, although Josh Stewart is busy with other projects, but a tweet from actress AJ Cook assured fans that the couple was just fine. Plus, maybe we’ll find out if Aaron Hotchner will get to have another swing in the love department with his last love, Beth.
Just because @J0SHSTEWART has a new show doesn't mean #WILIFER is over!!! Check it out here. http://t.co/F69pQs6Yiy

8. Friendships
With new blood coming to the BAU in the form of a new agent, it will be great to see how the team bonds with a new member and how their own relationships with each other continue to grow. I can’t wait to see more banter between Morgan and Reid, who always bring giggles when I see them teasing each other, well mostly Morgan teasing Reid.

7. Directing
In the past, actor Matthew Gray Gubler, who plays Spencer, has directed some episodes of the show. It has recently been reported that Thomas Gibson, who plays Hotchner, is set to direct an episode of the tenth season.

6. The Text
Last season, Agent Hotchner got a text message and it was never revealed who sent it or what it said. He reportedly told E! News that the information regarding the text would be revealed. Finally! The clip below shows a look back at some of the main points of season nine.
[new page= Spencer Reid]
5. Spencer Reid
Last season, Spencer Reid suffered a gunshot wound to the neck and to make matters even worse, an unsub tried to kill him and his co-worker, Penelope Garcia, in his own hospital room. It has been hinted that there will be ramifications for Reid stemming from this incident and it’ll be nice to see some developments for his character. I just hope it’s not another Dilaudid relapse, and it looks like TV Guide agrees with me. The poor guy has been through enough.
[new page= JJ Jareau]
4. JJ Jareau
While at an interview for Home and Family, actress AJ Cook hinted at an episode that would deal with the anniversary of when JJ was held hostage and tortured. She hinted that JJ may have PTSD and we are looking forward to seeing how JJ will handle the memory of what happened in the past.

3. The kids!
The entire show can be very dark and disturbing, and sometimes when we need brightness, we find it in the kids of the BAU. Jack Hotchner, son of Aaron Hotchner, and Henry LaMontange, JJ Jareau’s son, bring lightness and sweetness during otherwise sad and haunting episodes. It’ll be great to continue to see these little ones. The clip below is a scene between the team and young Henry, who decides to dress as his favorite profiler for Halloween. He chooses his Godfather, Reid.
[new page= Jennifer Love Hewitt]
2. Jennifer Love Hewitt
It was announced this summer that Jennifer Love Hewitt would be joining the cast as a former criminal psychologist who joins the BAU. Her character, Kate Callahan, is good at her job and definitely wants to get the bad guys. Hewitt did an interview with E!’s Kristin Dos Santos about her upcoming role.
[new page= The Unsubs]
1. The Unsubs
Every episode, we meet an unsub who makes our spines shiver with the depraved things they do to their victims. While not much is know about just what kind of crimes there will be, we do know that a new unsub will be featured throughout the season and this time, it will be a female unsub who is described as being someone who is attractive and is very successful. Hmm, can’t wait for the new season already! Anything you are looking forward to? Comment below!
