Iggy Azalea to perform new single 'Black Widow' at MTV Video Music Awards

Rapper Iggy Azalea, whose life has changed this summer thanks to the hit “Fancy,” announced this morning that she will perform at the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards. That means that the top two nomination-getters will both be performing at the ceremony, since Beyonce will be there as well.

Azalea made the announcement on The Today Show this morning, where she performed “Fancy” for a crowd of early-risers. She also sang “Work,” which also appears on her album The New Classic. Despite the amazing success “Fancy” has had on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, Azalea said she was still surprised by the crowd.

“I didn't anticipate there being so many people out there,” she said.

Later, she announced that she will sing “Black Widow,” her new single, at the VMAs this year. Rita Ora will join her for the performance, MTV said.

On Thursday, MTV announced that Beyonce will be at the ceremony to perform and she will receive the Vanguard Award for her contribution to music. She earned the most nominations with eight.

Azalea earned seven nominations, tying her with Eminem.

The MTV VMAs are on Aug. 24 at The Forum in Inglewood, California.

In case you want to hear another song from Azalea other than “Fancy,” here’s “Work.”
