Current Voice coach Shakira will not be returning to the popular NBC reality show as a coach in any upcoming seasons. The music superstar announced that this season of The Voice would be her last.
Last night on The Voice Team Shakira's only remaining vocalist, Kristen Merlin, was sent home.
In a recent interview with Synergetic Productions, Shakira explained that she did have a blast working on the show and she loves everyone involved with the program but right now she must move forward with her music career and being a mother.
"I don't have any plans of coming back. This was always temporary, but you never know. "I never thought I would be on a show like this one, but with the nature of the show, we're not just judges, but we're coaches. We're helping new talent flourish. That made me change my mind and say yes to being here," said Shakira.
Rolling Stone reported that Gwen Stefani will be joining the show and that Christina Aguilera is set to return to the show as well.
Pharrell will also be featured on the next season of The Voice.
