If staring in one of the most highly anticipated summer blockbustersX-Men: Days of Future Past, wasn't enough for Hugh Jackman, he will also be returning to Broadway for what is sure to be one of the hottest tickets for the upcoming season.
Entertainment Weekly reported Jackman will be returning to the stage this fall to perform in The River which is a new play in the United States. The play will be directed by Ian Rickson and was written by Jez Butterworth.
The upcoming show will also star Laura Donnelly and Cush Jumbo. Previews will start on Halloween at the Circle in the Square Theater which is a very intimate venue on Broadway.
Opening night for in The River will be November 16th but the show will only be playing for a limited engagement extending only 13-weeks. The show will close on January 25, 2015, The New York Post added.
Press notes from the show describe it as the story of a man, a woman and a moonless night. This play will ask the question if when we find another individual are we just trying to recapture someone we once lost.
Jackman is known for playing one of the most iconic characters in comic books but he also had great sucess on Broadway. He last performed back in 2011 in Hugh Jackman, Back on Broadway and had box office success with A Steady Rain in which Jackman acted opposite Daniel Craig.
