New evidence that Princess Diana leaked royal phone book to media arises in phone-hacking trail

It seems the royal family might not have known the royal truth. In the on going phone-hacking trial held in London new evidence was released Thursday statin that Princess Diana has leaked the royal phone book to the former NoW editor, Clive Goodman as a way of looking for an ally in the press.

After becoming separated from the Prince of Wales, Charles, in 1992, the princess had released the information as a part of her struggle with her estranged husband reported USA Today.

According to Goodman, the princess sent the book over to the newspaper office and then called later to ensure that he had received it.

"She told me she wanted me to see this book, she wanted me to see the scale of her husband's staff and household, compared to the scale of hers,” Goodman told the court according to the BBC.
Contrary to his story, Goodman is accused of paying police for royal phone books and was first arrested in 2006 after being suspected of hacking the voicemails of royal aides to Prince William and Prince Henry, Diana’s sons. After being put in jail for a short time in 2007, he is on trail for alleged conspiracy to commit misconduct in a public office, however he denies the accusation.
