The Houston Texans brought back tight end Garrett Graham by giving him a new contract over three years. In his new deal, Graham will make $11.25 million with $4.5 million guaranteed.
According to The Associated Press, Graham's signing came just two days after fellow tight end Owen Daniels was released.
Graham was drafted by the Texans in the fourth round of the 2010 draft, and he has since appeared in 41 games while making 20 starts. The majority of his career starts came in the 2013 season when Daniels went down with a fractured fibula.
Graham took advantage of his increased playing time by posting career-highs with 49 catches and 545 receiving yards. He also found the end zone five times. However, he also got bitten by the injury bug when he endured a severe hamstring injury, according to Ultimate Texans.
The Texans' new head coach Bill O'Brien gave Graham a vote of confidence by letting him know he wanted to keep him in Houston. Graham will look to justify O'Brien's faith in him as the Texans hope to put their disastrous 2013 season behind them.
