After signing cornerback Sam Shields to a multi-year $39 million deal, the Green Bay Packers brought back another one of their own players by re-signing defensive tackle B.J. Raji. Raji signed a one-year contract worth $4 million.
Raji was rated the No. 26 overall free agent, according to the Free Agent Hot 100.
Raji has spent his entire career with the Packers since being drafted ninth overall in 2009 as reported by NBC Sports. He has started every game but two in the last four seasons.
Raji had a forgettable 2013 season that included a career-low 19 tackles as reported by Fansided. He also failed to sack the quarterback for the second year in a row, contributing to the Packers' defensive woes.
Raji was offered a multi-year contract worth $8 million a year last year, but he declined it. He will look to return to his 2010 form when he played a vital role in the Packers' Super Bowl run. In the 2010 season, Raji recorded 6.5 sacks and 39 tackles.
