The final day of the Future Music’s Malaysia festival was canceled following the deaths of concert attendees, which happened during the previous days of the music festival.
Billboard reported that six people have died at the Future Music Asia festival from suspected drug overdoses. These deaths promoted concert organizes to cancel the final day of the festival.
This musical festival is a very high profiled event that features the best in electronic and dance music. This year's line up included Pharrell Williams, Eric Prydz, Brodinski, Porter Robinson, along with, Knife Party.
The festival released an official statement over the weekend regarding the incidents that had been taking place during the festival.
The statement reads, "As at 5.00PM on March 15, we can confirm that one death, and not five, took place on festival grounds on March 14. A police report has been filed and we are working very closely with all relevant authorities in examining and determining the cause of this very unfortunate incident. "
The reason behind canceling the final day of the festival was explained due to the fact that this would be the ongoing investigation into the reported deaths. Organizers of the festival appreciated that fans had been understanding and that they would release updates as soon as they became available.
