‘Walking Dead’ star Norman Reedus reveals interesting facts on ‘The Tonight Show’

AMC’s The Walking Dead superstar Norman Reedus was a guest on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon on Wednesday night. Despite playing the role of Daryl Dixon, a rough, tough guy, red neck survivor, Reedus showed a softer and playful side on the show.

Today Entertainment reports that Reedus playful personality started coming out when Fallon started talking about a new app called the BroApp. The BroApp is ideal for a man who is always on a go because it sends prewritten texts to their girlfriends.

In good humor Reedus read a few of the thoughtfully cheesy texts. He charismatically read them each and had the crowd completely entertained. One of the texts that stood out from the rest was “U better b ready for an attack from the smooch monster tonight!!” that had three emoji kissing faces at the end. Despite the texts being completely corny Reedus magnetic personality made them sound completely swoon worthy.

On the show Reedus also talked about the making of the fierce Daryl Dixon action figure. In order to make the action figure they had to scan his face. The creators had a difficult time at first because Reedus has a titanium, eye socket on his left eye. He told Fallon, "They kept scanning my face (and) it would just be black right here, and they couldn't figure it out. They thought it was broken or something.”

The titanium eye socket was a result of Reedus being in a car accident. The actor was hit by an 18-wheeler and ended in the hospital needing surgery. Fallon went on to joke and ask if Reedus could shoot a laser through his eye. In good humor Reedus responded "Of course! Durrrr!” and sent a “beam” into the camera that caused an “explosion.”

He went on to talk about the zombie crazed hit show The Walking Dead. Reedus gave a little teaser about the upcoming episodes by saying. “ Up to our finale, it just gets crazier. We have a crazy finale. It just gets more intense the whole way."

ComicBook.com explains the unique username Reedus uses on Twitter and Instagram, “bigbaldhead.” The name came to Reedus after he went to a Laurie Anderson concert when he was younger. The phrase came from her song “Sharkey’s Day” and the lyrics go “sun’s coming up like a big bald head.” The words “big bald head” was memorable to Reedus and he uses it not only for his social media but his production company.

Reedus also talked about his recent trip to New Orleans. He was chosen as one of the Grand Marshals for the Mardi Gras celebration. Reedus said he didn’t see a lot of boobs as he was throwing beads in the crowd.

Reedus said, “I was a little disappointed, because I didn’t see a whole lot of boobs. I think that’s what the tourist do on Bourbon Street, but not the locals.”

Here is the photo Reedus posted on his Instagram with Fallon.

The Walking Dead airs on Sundays on AMC at 9 p.m.
