Paula Deen doesn't always seem to be paying particular attention to what she is saying as she recently compared her struggles to that of Michael Sam, the football player who recently announced that he is gay ahead of the NFL draft.
In an interview with People that will be out on Friday, Deen opened up about how she is "fighting" and trying to move past the scandal where she was accused, and later admitted to, using the N-word towards employees.
One move she is making, is she will be opening a new restaurant called Paula Deen's Kitchen by Dolly Parton's Dollywood in Tennessee. The restaurant will cost $20 million.
Deen also recently got a $75 million investment from a private equity firm for her new company, Paula Dean Ventures.
Well she may have just made her comeback slightly harder for herself as she also compared herself to Sam, though she doesn't seem to mention him by name, in the People interview, according to MSNBC.
"I feel like 'embattled' or 'disgraced' will always follow my name. It's like that black football player who recently came out." She continued, "He said, 'I just want to be known as a football player. I don't want to be known as a gay football player.' I know exactly what he's saying."
