Former Friends star, Lisa Kudrow, has been ordered to pay her ex-assistant $1.6 million. Scott Howard won his lawsuit against the actress, claiming breach of contract.
Kudrow fired Howard in 2007 but he claims he negotiated important deals for her, including residuals for her syndication money for Friends. The show ran from 1994-2004 on NBC but re-runs still play today.
Kudrow’s lawyer, Gerald Sawyer, is confident the verdict will be appealed and told Deadline, “The jury’s verdict is merely one step in the legal process.”
However, Howard’s attorney, Mark Baute, called the verdict “rock solid” and suggested filing for an appeal is “frivolous” with “no chance for success.”
Today.com reports Howard stated Kudrow owes him money from more than just negotiations on her syndication residuals from Friends. He worked for Kudrow for 16 years and he launched the lawsuit in 2008.
Baute also counts Nicollette Sheridan as a client. He represents her in her ongoing termination case against ABC's Desperate Housewives.
