The same New York court to hear cases against Khobragade and the Congress Party of India

In a turn of events, the same New York court that will be having a pre-trial for Indian diplomat Devyani Khobragade on January 13 will also be holding a pre-trial for a human rights law suit against Congress Party of India on January 22.

According to The Times of India , the human rights law suit is about the Party of India allegedly organizing the massacre of Sikhs in November 1984, after the assassination of Prime Minister Indira Ghandi.

Khobragade landed in the hot seat when her domestic help, Sangeeta Richard, filed a complaint against her, and it came to light that she had made false claims on Richard’s visa application. Sikhs for Justice, who filed the law suit against Congress Party, is holding a rally in New York in support of Richards because India failed to ask for immunity for Richards as they did with Khobragade. Sikhs for Justice made parallels between India asking for immunity for a diplomat and the mass kills of Sikhs, in which they are providing immunity to.

Khobragade is out on a $250,000 bond, according to Sikhsiyasat
