NBC orders drama pilot from ‘Deception’ creator

NBC has ordered a new pilot from Deception creator, Liz Heldens. The upcoming project will be titled, Salvation.

Variety reported that the show will tell the story of a Texas church where faith, family and problems are discovered and investigated in equal measure. The show will focus on Jennifer Strickland, a mother who has to fight for her families right to her religious views when her husband passes away due to unknown, mysterious circumstances.

Heldens had two previous projects with NBC including Camp and Deception were cancelled earlier in the year, The Hollywood Reporter added.

Salvation marked one of multiple script sales for new NBC employee David Janollari's. Janollari is now a producer for NBC and is proving his skill set, bringing in successful projects. Janollari is currently on a three year network with NBC.

Universal TV is producing the pilot, with Heldens and David Janollari signed on the be executive producers.

No casting has been announced and it is not yet clear if the show will be filming in location in the state of Texas.
