The Sundance film festival, a program of the Sundance Institute, will be taking place in Utah again this year and features a variety of films that are set to debut at the festival. This year another medium of entertainment will be highlighted during the festival, music.
A musical focused event titled 'A Celebration of Music in Film' will be taking place on January 19 during the festival.
Performing at the festival will be, Low Down featuring Red Hot Chilli Peppers' Flea and composer Ohad Talmor Broadway World reported.
Peter Golub, director of The Sundance Institute film music program spoke about how important the relationship is between the films that are shown at the festival and the music compositions. "All year round we work with composers and filmmakers, giving them a chance to think, experiment, and work with mentors on what happens when one puts film and music together. Our Sunday night 'Celebration' puts a spotlight on the crucial role that music plays in filmmaking by presenting the most exciting music from this year's slate of films," said Golub.
The festival features a wide range of films including many indie and non mainstream films, USA Today added. Some of the films include, Camp X-Ray staring Kristen Stewart and Ryan Reynolds new film, The Voices.
Sundance kicks off on Thursday and will go for 11-day.
