Cody Cousins pleads not guilty to Purdue University shooting

Cody Cousins, 23, an engineering student at Purdue University, plead not guilty after he allegedly stabbed and shot Andrew Boldt, 22, also an engineering student on Tuesday in a classroom in the Electric Engineering Building on campus around 12 p.m.

The authorities found Cousins sitting outside the building with his hands behind his back. According to Reuters, bloody footprints, a hand gun and its casings, with a knife were found by Boldt’s body. Part of the attack was caught on a security video. Cousins was brought to the Tippecanoe County Jail to face murder charges on Thursday.

According to International Business Times, there is not much information on Cousins. He had a run in with police after being intoxicated, he has two addresses-one in Warsaw, Ind, and Centerville, Ohio.

Police do not have a lead on why Cousins attacked Boldt; however they think that Cousins only targeted Boldt and no one else. Cousins will be held without bail until his trial.
