Taylor Swift is once again proving her talents as a singer-songwriter and her ability to challenge herself with new sounds with her latest single, “Sweeter Than Fiction.”
According to the Huffington Post, the Red singer penned the song for the film One Chance. The movie tells the story of Paul Potts, an opera singer who found fame on the television show Britain’s Got Talent.
Entertainment Weekly reports that Swift’s tune is 80’s inspired and proves that Swift is not just a superstar, but a fan as well. The blonde beauty wrote the song from the perspective of an adoring fan who supported a performer and believed in their talent from the very beginning of their career.
The lyrics include, “There you’ll stand ten feet tall, and I will say, ‘I knew it all along. ’ I’ll be one of the many saying, ‘You made us proud.’”
The “I Knew You Were Trouble” singer wrote the song with fun. guitarist Jack Antonoff. He tweeted about the song saying, “sweeter than fiction is here! very inspired by @taylorswift13 & LOVE working with her. hear the john hughes in it?”

Haley Williams, front woman of the band Paramore, joined in on the excitement writing, “@jackantonoff @taylorswift13 I totaly hear it and it’s so rad!!”
Taylor teased Swifties about the release on Twitter when she wrote, “Something I’m really excited about is happening very soon! Maybe even as soon as tonight... @onechancemovie.”

The bubblegum track is super sweet and just as addictive! “Sweeter Than Fiction” debuted on iTunes Sunday October 21 at midnight.
