Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are now engaged after welcoming their first child together in June. It was a big birthday surprise for Kardashian, who turned 33 yesterday.
West flew to San Francisco from Los Angeles to celebrate his now-fiance’s birthday and pop the question at San Francisco's AT&T Park, home to the San Francisco Giants. The Yeezus rapper rented it out for the occasion.
According to E! Online, West had the songs "Young and Beautiful" by Lana Del Rey and Keri Hilson, Ne-Yo and his own song "Knock You Down” played by a 50-piece orchestra. As he got down on one knee, fireworks and Roman candles exploded and "PLEEEASE MARRY MEEE!!!" appeared on the jumbo screen behind the orchestra.
West proposed with a 15-carat ring from Lorraine Schwartz, who also made Kardashian’s ring from ex-husband Kris Humphries.
Before they got engaged, West asked permission from Kardashian’s mom, Kris Jenner, who has publicly gushed about her son-in-law to be on various occasions.
She told E! News after the engagement "A match made in heaven! I am so happy for both of my kids, Kim and Kanye."
Kardashian's sister, Khloe, reacted on Twitter, saying, Wow!!!!! Am I dreaming??!?!" and "Tears of JOY!!!!!!! Wow!!!!!!"
