The Vampire Diaries co-stars Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev might have broken up, but that didn’t stop Somerhalder from paying his ex a compliment on Twitter. He urged fans to pick up a copy of Cosmpolitan, which Dobrev graces the cover of.
Somerhalder posted a picture of the magazine on Instagram and called it “stunning” in a caption.
“In a store this morning-who do I see?The one&only @ninadobrev These things are almost gone so If you haven't gotten this magazine off of a shelf-get one. One word: Stunning... Congrats Nina! Xo Ian,” he wrote.
Dobrev responded on Twitter, writing:

The former couple called it quits in May after dating for over three years. With a ten-year age difference, sources say Dobrev wasn’t ready to commit like Somerhalder wanted her to.
“They still talk daily," a source told E! News. "This wasn't something out of the blue."
They met on the set of their CW show in 2009 and remain friends.
