Portland family finds intruder in their home

Kyler Pulfrey and Emily Collar of Portland, Oregon found an intruder in their home Sunday, August 18.

Pulfrey and Collar live with her two daughters. Collar’s six-year-old goddaughter was spending the night, sleeping on a crib mattress on the floor near her bed. Collar asked Pulfrey to turn the air conditioner down at approximately 1 a.m. because she was too cold.

That was when Pulfrey noticed a man who he didn’t know lying on the floor near the goddaughter. The Oregonian reports that the girls’ pants were pulled down.

"Basically, it was a fight for power. I was trying to detain him and he was trying to get away," Pulfrey told local news station KPTV – KPDX . "And I didn't want him going anywhere, so I made sure he wasn't going anywhere."

A roommate called 911. The police quickly arrived and arrested the man on suspicion of burglary and attempted sexual abuse of a child.
