Singer Tina Turner has married her longtime boyfriend, record executive Erwin Bach, during a Buddhist ceremony in Switzerland Sunday.
The AFP reports that Swiss media confirmed that the couple married in a secret ceremony in Kusnacht, in north Switzerland. Municipal official Hannes Friess said the ceremony took place “a few days ago.”
They are planning on hosting a reception at their Kusnacht manor with 120 guests this weekend. David Bowie, Eros Ramazzotti and Sade are expected to be among the guests, Swiss media has reported. The local press there also claims that the couple has set up a stage and sent out notices to their neighbors that the party might get noisy.
According to The Daily Mail, the “What’s Love Got To Do With It” singer has been living in Switzerland for the past 15 years. In fact, in January, she decided to become a Swiss citizen and turned in her U.S. passport. She retired from performing after a 2008-09 tour.
Turner, 73, was previously married to the late Ike Turner for 14 years. She began her relationship with Bach, 57, in the 1980s.
