Third suspect arrested alongside Hernandez in killing of Odin Lloyd

Ernest Wallace, the third suspect arrested alongside former New England Patriots player Aaron Hernandez in the fatal shooting of Odin Lloyd, will be arraigned Monday afternoon in an Attleboro, Massachusetts District Courthouse.

Wallace, a 41-year-old man from Miramar, Florida, is being charged with accessory to murder. According to BostonGlobe, prosecutors say three men were in a car with Lloyd before he was shot and killed in the early morning of June 17.

Lloyd’s body was soon discovered in a North Attleboro industrial park not far from Hernandez’s home. Hernandez was arrested on June 26 and charged with first degree murder without bail. Carlos Ortiz, the other man in the car, was arrested next for the possession of a firearm without a license on $1.5 million bail. They both plead not guilty.

After these arrests, Massachusetts police released Wallace’s name and photo to the public, asking for anyone with information to come forward. The next day, Wallace turned himself in, attorneys say.

The state of Massachusetts has a joint venture law, stating that anyone present when a crime is committed or has prior knowledge of it is susceptible to the same legal penalties as the person who actually committed the crime.

NBCNews reports that Judge Renee Dupuis, the same judge that denied Hernandez’s second request of bail Thursday, said the state’s case is “circumstantial but very, very strong.”
